Dog Sled Trips

     On the first day of your winter holiday you will travel north along the scenic Echo Trail through snow covered pines, spruce, and balsams to the Lodge of Whispering Pines where your adventure will begin.
     Plan to arrive at the lodge for check in between 3:00 P.M. and 6:00P.M..After getting settled in your cabin, you may like to snowshoe or ski one our wilderness trails or spend the evening relaxing in your cabin by the fireplace, maybe enjoy a traditional wood fired sauna, or taking a star lit walk in the beautiful winter's night before returning to your comfortable north woods cabin for a good nights rest.
     After a continental breakfast in your cabin, you will be ready to go and meet your mushers and your team of affectionate and well trained Huskies, and be instructed on the art of mushing. Soon you will be ready to begin mushing your team on a 6-8 hour adventure along forest trails, across frozen lakes and rivers. During your trip we will take special forays in search of tracks and other signs of various wildlife, including timber wolf, whitetail deer, moose and the many other small and wonderful wild creatures that live in this unique wilderness. You will have the opportunity to hone your howling skills as we attempt to communicate with the wolves at their own level.
     At midday a hearty trail lunch will be prepared to fortify you for the afternoon adventures and return trip to the lodge, where the traditional wood fired sauna will be stoked and ready for you to enjoy before you go to one of Ely's finest restaurants to enjoy a great evening meal. After dinner relax in your cabin, or again enjoy the winter sky and maybe the northern lights.
     After your continental breakfast the next morning you will harness the dogs again and head out for another full day on the many miles of wilderness trails before you stop for the day and head back to the Lodge, sauna, and another dinner in Ely. The next morning you will start your journey home with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
     The above package includes three nights lodging, all meals, Two full days of mushing your own team of sled dogs, and use of sauna, skating rink and ski trails.

We will also customize our sled dog trips to meet your interests. Our trips range from 1-7 days and are Lodge based to give you more time mushing your team of huskies.

Climb in the sled behind a team of affectionate well-trained Huskies and you're off on an exciting and unforgettable adventure. You will travel through the snow covered forest, over frozen lakes and rivers depending on the temperature and snow conditions.
